Nghe An supports the construction and repair of 3,347 houses for the poor

Nghe An - In 2024, the whole province will mobilize resources to support the construction and repair of 3,347 houses for the poor and people with housing difficulties.

On December 14, information from the People's Committee of Nghe An province said that it had just reported the results of the program to mobilize and support the construction and repair of houses for the poor and people with housing difficulties in the province in 2024.

As of December 10, 2024, districts, cities and towns have reviewed and approved the list of 17,761 households in need of support for housing construction and repair in the 2023 - 2025 period.

Of these, 3,590 households requested support for building prefabricated houses; 9,443 households requested support for new construction (self-construction); 4,728 households requested support for repairs (self-repair).

Up to now, 149 organizations and individuals (including 21 districts, cities and towns) have registered to mobilize and support the program through the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee, with a total number of houses registered for support of 12,100, equivalent to 614.65 billion VND.

From the 1-year review date (April 19, 2024) to December 10, 2024, the total resources mobilized in many forms with a total converted amount of VND 208.64 billion. Of which, the provincial fund received VND 19.14 billion; the district and commune levels directly supported VND 169.5 billion; other resources (working days, supplies, materials, relatives' support, etc.) are estimated at over VND 20 billion.

Accumulated from the beginning of the program to December 10, 2024, the whole province has mobilized a total of over 843 billion VND in various forms. Of which, the provincial fund is 218.11 billion VND; district and commune levels and direct support are 355 billion VND; other support resources (working days, supplies, materials, relatives' support...) are estimated at over 270 billion VND.

In 2024, the province supported the construction and repair of 3,347 houses (including: 10 prefabricated houses; 2,501 newly built houses and 836 repaired houses).

Cumulatively, the whole province has supported the construction and repair of 11,787 houses (including: 3,590 prefabricated houses; 6,298 newly built houses; 1,899 repaired houses), reaching 75% of the demand for the entire period of 2023 - 2025 compared to the approval at the beginning of the program (15,700 houses), reaching 66.36% compared to the demand arising as of December 10, 2024 (17,761 houses).

According to Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province Nguyen Duc Trung, the housing support program for the poor is one of the largest, most humane, and most large-scale programs ever launched and implemented by the province.
