On March 12, according to the Election Commission of Nghe An province, on the morning of March 13, 55 polling stations in 12 mountainous and border communes of Nghe An province will conduct voting 2 days earlier than the national election day for National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term.
The whole province has 130 communes and wards with a total of 3,123 polling stations. Due to the specific terrain of being divided, difficult traffic, and sparse population, the province has proposed and been allowed by the National Election Council to organize early voting in some mountainous, remote, and border areas.

Among the 55 early voting areas, Huoi Tu commune has 13 areas (commune-wide), Na Ngoi commune has 9 areas, Muong Tip commune has 7 areas, Chau Khe commune has 5 areas, Tri Le commune has 4 areas. Bac Ly, My Ly, Mon Son and Tam Thai communes each have 3 areas; Keng Du and Muong Quang communes each have 2 areas; Huu Khuong commune has 1 area.
In Huoi Tu commune, where all 13 polling stations organize early elections, preparations have been completed. With a population of 4,868 people, the Commune Election Committee has established 5 Election Boards, 13 Election Teams and service sub-committees. After 3 rounds of consultation, the commune finalized the list of 25 candidates for voters to choose to elect 15 delegates of the Commune People's Council.
In Tam Thai commune, there are 3 early polling stations in Pha Lom, Huoi Son and Phong villages. Mr. Lo Duong Khanh - Chairman of Tam Thai Commune People's Committee said that the preparations for early polling stations have been completed, early polling stations will conduct voting at 7 am on March 13.

Voter lists have been posted at cultural houses of villages and commune People's Committee headquarters; ballot boxes, ballots and seals have been fully prepared. Voter contact work of candidates has been carried out on schedule, and security and order assurance plans have also been developed.
These days, at voter listing points in the highlands of Nghe An, the atmosphere of election preparation is taking place urgently. In many villages, the loudspeaker system continuously broadcasts the content of the Election Law in both common and ethnic languages so that people can clearly understand their rights and obligations.
Local authorities also established an information network through the village party secretary and militia forces to promptly update the election situation to the commune center in conditions without telephone signals.
Nghe An province has established 6 National Assembly Deputy Election Boards, 20 Provincial People's Council Deputy Election Boards, 1,039 commune-level Election Boards and 3,123 polling stations.
The official list of candidates for the 16th National Assembly in the province has 21 people to elect 16 deputies. All candidates have a university degree or higher, of which 71.4% have a postgraduate degree.
With preparation of human resources, facilities and safety assurance plans, Nghe An province is ready for early elections in mountainous and border communes on March 13.
