Implementing a roadmap for strictly managing mobile subscriber information nationwide, the Government has issued Decree 163/2024/ND-CP and Law on Identification 26/2023/QH15, clearly stipulating the responsibility of telecommunications service users in ensuring accurate and synchronous registration information with the National Population Database.

Updating subscriber information brings many practical and direct benefits to each user. First of all, protecting the owners SIMs identity helps ensure the accuracy of the subscriber database, while enhancing personal information security to help people easily prove their ownership of the phone number in cases of disputes, or when they need support to restore lost, damaged or locked SIMs. More importantly, updating the correct information contributes to protecting subscribers and all accounts and digital services associated with that phone number - including banks, social networks, e-wallets, emails and many other important services.
To protect data related to individual subscribers, people need to update their facial eKYC, authenticate with a chip-embedded Citizen Identification Card (CCCD) synchronized with the National Population Database of the Ministry of Public Security, and integrate the ecosystem of all Viettel services/Viettel subscriber numbers that customers are using for management.

Accordingly, Viettel noted that two customer groups need to prioritize immediate information updates:
- Customers who have subscriber information using a 9-digit ID card (CMND) on the system have expired, so they need to update the information according to the new Citizen Identification Number to ensure legality.
- Customers with incorrect paperwork information: Customers can check by composing a message using the acronym: TTTB_number of documents sent to 1414. If the received information is not standard compared to the current identification documents, customers need to change the subscriber information.
To support people to fulfill this obligation in the most convenient way, Viettel has deployed many digital and direct support channels. Customers can easily make updates at home through the MyViettel application by logging in, finding the "Information Standards" section and following instructions for taking CCCD photos, portraits and confirming information. In addition, customers can also bring their ID card to any nearest Viettel Store/Transaction Point for direct support from staff, or contact hotline 198 for instructions on the inspection process and detailed information updates.
In the context of the strong development of digital technology, updating subscriber information is not only a duty but also a right of each citizen. Viettel recommends that customers quickly check and complete their information to ensure that the service is maintained continuously and in accordance with Government regulations. The proactiveness of the people at this time will contribute to building a safe, transparent and sustainable telecommunications environment for the community./.
