To cope with complex weather developments, Viettel has activated a large-scale information security plan in the Central - Central Highlands region. Nearly 6,000 mobile generators have been deployed in Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai, Dak Lak provinces, ensuring power maintenance for broadcasting stations even when there is a widespread power outage. In addition, more than 1,900 backup batteries have been transferred to increase the network's maintenance time. The whole region has also been enhanced with 17 satellite phones, 48 handheld walkie-talkies and 9 mobile broadcasting vehicles to ensure smooth communication in all emergency situations.
In Khanh Hoa province alone, Viettel deployed 4 more transport drones to serve the transportation of materials and necessities when the road is cut off, and used a flycam system to support search and rescue work. Along with that, Viettel has expanded the ability to roaming between network operators, helping people ensure communication even if part of the network has problems due to the impact of extreme weather.

From the center of the flood, Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Ngoc Thuong, Director of Viettel Khanh Hoa shared that in recent days, heavy rain has been continuously causing water levels to rise, many areas have been completely cut off. In such an urgent situation, the task of ensuring communication for people and the disaster response command system is placed at the highest level. For many consecutive days, fighting against prolonged heavy rains and rising floodwaters, the staff of Viettel Khanh Hoa are still resiliently sticking to the most severe conditions to determined to maintain the wave system Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Ngoc Thuong emphasized.
The unit has proactively been on duty 24/7 and deployed a series of emergency solutions: reinforcing and raising equipment at locations at risk of deep flooding; Organizing teams at stations, on duty ready to handle all unexpected incidents. At the same time, closely coordinate with local authorities, ensuring smooth information for flood response operations. Thanks to the initiative and high sense of responsibility, the Viettel network in Khanh Hoa still operates stably in the most difficult times.

Having just gone through days of resiliently preventing and overcoming the consequences of storm No. 13 causing huge damage, Gia Lai and Dak Lak continue to face the historic flood. The water rose too quickly at night, many areas were cut off, and the access to BTS stations was inaccessible for information rescue. Lieutenant Colonel Phung Van Man - Director of Viettel Gia Lai and Viettel units in the area, from technical to business, are still resiliently fighting floods, implementing many information rescue plans, and have opened roads, fueled, welded, and pulled rescue cables overnight to ensure maintaining communication to serve the government and people. By the end of the afternoon of November 22, the communication network in Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai and Dak Lak had been almost completely restored. Currently, there are only a few stations in Khanh Hoa and Dak Lak due to the cut-off terrain, making it impossible for the force to access to replace the equipment. Viettel's technical team remains on duty at 100%, fully preparing vehicles and materials, and being ready to deploy rescue as soon as conditions permit.
In addition to information rescue work, all Viettel stores in provinces facing natural disasters have been arranged as free battery charging points for local people.
Wave rescue and people rescue Both tasks must be completed
Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Ngoc Thuong, Director of Viettel Khanh Hoa, said that during the information rescue process, the brothers also combined to transport goods and supplies to isolated people, and the brothers' vehicles were also ready to rescue people when necessary.
The unit's officers and employees still cannot forget the night of November 19, while struggling to fight the flood, the emergency rescue report was sent to the people in distress. Without hesitation, Mr. Pham Van Hung, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phuc and Mr. Hoang Duc Hieu - Viettel Khanh Hoa used their own small boat to rush into deep water in the middle of the rainy night to save the two children who were stuck to safety.

In parallel with the task of providing information and rescue for people in Khanh Hoa, Viettel also deployed drones to transfer relief goods, providing satellite phones to serve areas with lost contact, and flycams to support search and rescue. The unit operates 5 drones to transport relief goods to people in Bac Nha Trang and Tay Nha Trang wards, Dien Dien commune and Bac Ai Tay - these are deeply flooded areas that are difficult to access by boat and canoe. Up to now, Viettel drones have made 300 flights, transporting nearly 3 tons of food and essential goods to people.
Adding money to accounts, promotions for subscription cards, data to help people in isolated areas stay in touch
As of the morning of November 22, 2025, Viettel Telecom has continuously issued emergency policies to support customers in Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai, and Dak Lak provinces to stay in touch during the fierce flood. Accordingly, subscribers in isolated areas are allowed to add 20,000 to their accounts to call, text and connect. The total amount of support has reached more than 10 billion VND.
In addition, Viettel Telecom also applies policies such as giving away 50% of the card value, giving away 50% of traffic when registering for data packages to help people overcome natural disasters. A representative of Viettel Telecom said that support policies will continue to be evaluated and applied to promptly support people in times of urgent difficulties./.
