After storms No. 10 and 11 in 2025, many people's bridges in Bach Dang commune, Cao Bang province were swept away and heavily damaged by floods, greatly affecting people's travel and production.
To date, the locality has deployed the construction of 6 out of a total of 7 bridges with the support of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee's Relief Fund, businesses, philanthropists and the consensus of the people in site clearance work.
In Ban Sang hamlet, the Thang Mai bridge project is being urgently completed. To serve the construction, many households voluntarily donated land, dismantled fences and trees to widen the access road to the bridge.

Mr. Tran Son Lam said that after the rain and flood, the Thang Mai suspension bridge was completely swept away by the flood, causing many households to be isolated, and the transportation of agricultural products faced many difficulties.
When the local authorities mobilized to donate land to build a bridge, my family immediately agreed. Losing a little land but in return people have a solid bridge to travel long-term is very worthwhile," Mr. Lam shared.
According to local authorities, the implementation process faces many difficulties due to the narrow roads leading to the bridge, related to the land and works of the people.
However, thanks to doing a good job of propaganda and mobilization, many households have agreed to donate land to serve construction.
Mr. Tran Xuan Quynh, Secretary of the Party Cell, Head of Ban Sang hamlet, said that 8 households in the hamlet voluntarily donated about 200 m2 of land, dismantled 90 m2 of fences to expand the road to the bridge. People in the hamlet also contributed more than 50 million VND to support affected households to rebuild fences.

Not only in Ban Sang, in Boc Thuong hamlet, many households also voluntarily donated nearly 600 m2 of land to implement civil bridge projects.
In Khuoi Pat hamlet, people donated about 200 m2 of rice fields and house foundations to build Thin Tong bridge. Currently, the project has been completed and put into use.
According to Mr. Ly Minh Son - Chairman of Bach Dang Commune People's Committee, after the natural disaster, the locality faced many difficulties in overcoming traffic infrastructure.
However, thanks to the support from many resources and the consensus of the people, many civil bridge projects are gradually being completed, contributing to meeting travel needs and promoting socio-economic development in the locality.
