Dien Bien sets a target of 100% of people participating in health insurance

Dien Bien - The Provincial People's Committee sets a target that by 2030, 100% of people in the area will participate in health insurance (HI).

Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Phu has just signed a decision assigning HI coverage targets to the People's Committees of communes and wards in the province for the period 2026 - 2030.

With a population size of 667,417 people, the locality sets a target that in 2026 it will mobilize 656,738 people to participate in health insurance, equivalent to a coverage rate of 98.40%.

This target level is designed to gradually increase year by year. Specifically, the provincial health insurance coverage rate is expected to reach 98.80% by 2027; increasing to 99.20% by 2028 and reaching 99.60% by 2029. By 2030, all 100% of the province's population will participate in health insurance.

The Provincial People's Committee also assigned the People's Committees of communes and wards to review and fully manage groups of subjects; identify cases that have not participated in health insurance to have appropriate propaganda and mobilization solutions.

At the same time, promote health insurance policy propaganda, assign specific targets to each village, hamlet, and residential group to improve the coverage rate in the area.
