Park is degraded, construction items are rusted.
29.3 Park is the green core of Da Nang city center. However, this project is gradually deteriorating, the entertainment items are rusted, limiting the attraction of tourists. The lake in the park has a lot of plastic waste causing pollution.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan - a resident of Da Nang City - shared that her family often takes advantage of weekends to take their children to 29/3 Park to visit and play after school.
“It can be said that 29.3 Park is the “lung” of the center of Da Nang City because there are many trees and spacious areas. My family often brings our children here on holidays and weekends so that they have a comfortable space to play. However, some of the park play equipments here are quite old, so I don’t dare let my children take risks,” said Ms. Lan.
According to Ms. Lan, the game items here are almost degraded, the screws are rusty, the playground floor is cracked and deformed, making many parents worried when bringing their children to visit.
Ms. Thao said that people in Thanh Khe district, Da Nang city, 29.3 park is quite cool, the vegetation is lush. This is also the pride of Da Nang people.
Therefore, when there is a policy to upgrade and renovate 29.3 Park, Ms. Thao also hopes that the items and projects will be renovated and invested in to become a highlight of the city.
Furthermore, Ms. Thao also hopes that the zoo here will be repaired and better cared for to attract visitors.
Postpone upgrade and renovation time
At the 12th session of the 10th City People's Council, term 2021-2026, the City People's Council agreed on the investment policy to upgrade and renovate 29.3 Park with a budget of more than 673 billion VND.
The project is expected to begin in June 2024. The highlight of the project is the "peace ring" architectural work, building a new gate on Nguyen Tri Phuong street.
But in early October, the Department of Planning and Investment of Da Nang City announced that the Management Board of Investment and Construction of Civil and Industrial Works in Da Nang (the investor) requested to postpone the start of the project to upgrade and renovate the 29.3 Park until February 2025. Because the initial schedule for the start of construction is no longer consistent with reality. The project will dredge the lake bed in the park and has not yet found a place to dump more than 115,000m3 of mud.
The Management Board of the Danang Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project is also struggling to find a place to dump the above mentioned sludge. The transportation of sludge to the Khanh Son landfill has been considered and determined to be inappropriate.
The Department of Construction is also appraising the project, so requesting a delay is appropriate.
The Management Board of the Danang Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project proposed the Department of Construction to support shortening the time for appraising project documents.
