According to people, on April 14 and 15, heavy hailstorms continuously occurred in Tu Mo Rong commune, concentrated in Dak Chum 1 village. Each hailstorm lasted from 30 minutes to 1 hour, with stones as big as fingers falling thickly, covering the ground white. At the time of hailstorms, people had to stay indoors, not daring to go out.
Hail has caused damage to many areas of crops. In Dak Chum 1 village alone, many areas of coffee and strawberries of about 20 households are affected. For the area of Ngoc Linh ginseng planted under the forest canopy, people are continuing to go to the forest to inspect and assess the extent of damage.
Mr. A Kru, Head of Dak Chum 1 village, said that the locality had also experienced hailstorms before, but the scale and intensity were not as large as the two recent storms. This time, hailstorms had large grains, falling thickly and for a long time, causing people to be very worried.
