On the afternoon of April 22, speaking with reporters, Mr. Quach Cong Thai - Chairman of the People's Committee of Chi Dao commune said that the incident occurred at around 1:30 p.m. the same day.
The victim was a man born in 1962, residing in Dinh Cu commune.
At the time of the incident, there were scattered thunderstorms in the area. Local people discovered that the victim had died on the spot after being beaten by lightning while working in the fields.
Currently, the local government has coordinated with the family to support the victim's funeral and advise people to be careful when working outdoors in unusual weather conditions.
