On June 9, a representative of the People's Committee of Cam Long commune, Cam Thuy district confirmed that people continue to gather to protest the environmental pollution of pig farms in the area.

Also according to the representative of Cam Long Commune People's Committee, the locality is coordinating with relevant agencies to clarify the incident related to the above pig farm, while grasping the situation and stabilizing order in the area with high population density.
The people of Long Tien village, Cam Long commune have gathered to protest the pig farm that caused environmental pollution of a household in the area for many days. They even hung banners on the way to the pig farm to request the government and authorities to intervene.
According to people's reflection, recently, the pig farm of Mr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh (residing in Cam Long commune) has regularly discharged livestock waste directly into the environment, causing serious pollution, causing fish in Tra Boi dam (in Long Tien village) to die en masse.

"The farm discharges waste directly into the environment many times. We have reported it, the authorities received it, the farm owner also promised to fix it, but it has been repeated. We were too upset, so we gathered to protest, hoping that the authorities would handle it completely" - a resident said.
The functional agencies of Thanh Hoa province, the People's Committee of Cam Thuy district and the People's Committee of Cam Long commune were present at the scene to inspect. Through records at the pond containing water adjacent to Tra Boi dam, near the pig farm area, the authorities discovered black water, giving off a foul smell. The water hole near the dam, about 350m2 (70m long, 5m wide), also recorded black water with a strong foul smell.

The People's Committee of Cam Thuy district said that in the area where people reported, the authorities discovered a wastewater pipeline from the pig farm flowing into Tra Boi dam. The wastewater is black and foul. In previous days, there were dead fish at Tra Boi dam, but the number was not large.
Working with the authorities, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh - the farm owner - admitted to the violation and apologized to the people of Long Tien village. He also pledged to fix the problem of biogas pipes, tarpaulins in tanks and collect and treat all generated wastewater.
It is known that Mr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh's farm has a cross-scale of 2,400 pigs and 5,000 pigs/catch, divided into 2 farming areas, operating since 2018.
