Tan Lac is a locality with a large number of ethnic minorities living together. In recent years, the district has achieved many remarkable achievements in socio-economic development, while maintaining security and national defense.
Recognizing the importance of legal education and mediation at the grassroots level as a top priority task, playing a connecting role in building and enforcing the law, Tan Lac district has opened many classes to promote legal awareness for ethnic minorities.
On September 17, according to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, a class on legal education for ethnic minorities took place in Ne hamlet, Suoi Hoa commune, Tan Lac district with about 80 people participating.
At the propaganda session, ethnic minorities were informed of legal regulations on marriage and family such as the harmful effects of early marriage and incestuous marriage; Law on marriage and family; harmful effects of domestic violence; Law on child protection, etc. In addition, they also acquired knowledge related to the Civil Code.
Ms. Dinh Thi Hang (Ne hamlet, Suoi Hoa commune) said - through propaganda work, people have raised their awareness of the law, understood the harmful effects of early marriage, incestuous marriage, now to get married, women must be 18 years old, men must be 20 years old, that is, they must meet the conditions for registration to get married.
At the same time, early sexual intercourse, pregnancy, childbirth, and early child rearing slow down the natural physical development of humans, leading to degeneration, causing illness, and depleting the health of parents and children. Incestuous marriage and early marriage are also barriers to socio-economic development.
Mr. Bui Van Binh, Head of Ne Hamlet, shared: "Today, people actively participated in the legal education and dissemination class. Everyone enjoyed listening, absorbing knowledge, and improving their understanding of the law."
Mr. Bui Tien Luc - Head of the Judicial Division of Tan Lac district informed that from the beginning of 2024 until now, the unit has coordinated with localities to open 6 classes to disseminate and educate about the law. It is expected that from now until the end of the year, 12 more classes will be opened for ethnic minorities.
According to Mr. Luc, the propaganda classes have helped popularize legal education activities closely following reality and suitable for the target audience. Through that, ethnic minorities have been able to access more useful knowledge.
