On March 23 and 24, the contact Committee of the First Army - Quyet Quyet Troup fighting Association organized a visit to the ancient battlefield in Binh Duong province on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
During the program, the delegation visited the Provincial Martyrs' Cemetery; met and exchanged with officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces and veterans of Binh Duong province; Visited some historical relics and scenic spots where officers and soldiers of the delegation participated in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign in Ben Cat city, Thu Dau Mot city and Thuan An city.
Welcoming the delegation were Mr. Bui Minh Tri - Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee; Colonel Nguyen Hoang Minh - Commander of Binh Duong Provincial Military Command.

According to Lieutenant General Nguyen Duc Son - former Deputy Political Commander of the 1st Corps, Head of the Communications Department, the 1st Corps is the first mobile main force of the Vietnam People's Army.During the General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of 1975, Army Corps 1 organized a "speedy" campaign from North to South in just 11 days and nights, traveling a distance of more than 1,700 km, promptly participating in the fight in the North of Saigon.
With a "fast, bold, surprising, and certain to win" attack, Army Corps 1 resolutely attacked, destroyed the 5-man group, and liberated Binh Duong province.Next, they boldly pushed deep into the General Staff, Ly Go Vap District, Gia Dinh Sub-region, and liberated Saigon, contributing to the complete liberation of the South and national reunification.
