Summarizing this content, Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang generalized that in 2024, the practice of thrift and combating waste has had many changes and achieved important and positive results in various fields.
Some specific results such as the state budget revenue in 2024 reached VND 2.043 million billion, an increase of VND 342.7 trillion (+20.1%) compared to the estimate and report to the National Assembly; State budget expenditure in 2024 is estimated at VND 1.83 million billion, equal to 86.4% of the estimate.
The state budget expenditure management in 2024 is carried out proactively and closely according to the estimate, ensuring thorough savings in regular expenditures, cutting down on expenditure tasks that are not really necessary and slow to be implemented.
The total savings of state funds and capital in 2024 according to reports from ministries, branches and localities are 64,014 billion VND.
Striving to achieve the highest of the socio-economic development goals and tasks set by the National Assembly in 2025, the Minister of Finance said that the Government determined to tighten discipline and order in the management and use of finance and budget; manage state budget expenditures according to estimates, ensuring strictness, economy and efficiency.

Strengthen the management and use of public assets, ensure compliance with standards, norms, regimes and in accordance with task requirements, focus on the arrangement and handling of assets, especially houses and land associated with the arrangement and organization of streamlining the apparatus.
Strengthen the inspection, examination and audit of the implementation of policies and laws on thrift practice and waste combat. Thoroughly recovering suspended projects and accelerating the recovery of assets and land of the State lost, violating according to the conclusions and recommendations of the inspection, examination and auditing agencies.
