On the morning of May 14, leaders of Que Phuoc Commune People's Committee confirmed that an incident had just occurred in the area where a resident died, due to being struck by lightning while working outdoors in the field.
According to initial information, at about 4 pm on May 13, Ms. V.T. X (51 years old, local resident) was working in the field when the weather suddenly appeared with thunderstorms and lightning. While she had not yet found a shelter, the victim was struck by lightning and collapsed on the spot.
Discovering the incident, local people quickly reported it to the authorities and helped take the victim out of the scene. However, the woman died.
Representatives of Que Phuoc Commune People's Committee said that immediately after receiving the news, functional forces coordinated with people to take the victim home for his family to take care of the funeral.
Local authorities have visited and encouraged the victim's family after the painful incident.
