According to initial information, at around 5:00 p.m. on June 14, in the area near Van Dien station (Ngoc Hoi street), an unidentified woman suddenly crossed the railway right when the Thong Nhat Bac - Nam train was approaching.
Due to not being able to brake in time, the train hit and caused the victim to be thrown off the track and die soon after. The incident forced the North-South Thong Nhat train to stop urgently to coordinate with authorities to handle the scene, while ensuring safety for passengers on the train.
The leader of Traffic Police Team No. 14 - Traffic Police Department, Hanoi City Police confirmed the incident and said that the police are investigating and clarifying the identity of the victim as well as the cause of this tragic accident.
