On this special train, there was a special guest, Ms. KURAMORI Terumi - a survivor of the nuclear bombing in Nagasaki, Japan (exposed for the nuclear bomb at the age of one).
Terumi was hit by the bombing in Nagasaki when she was 5.8 km from the center and then evacuated with her mother, brother and sister to a bomb shelter behind the house. Although she does not have a direct personal memory of the explosion, the strong desire to prevent a similar tragedy from recurring has prompted her to participate in activities to share her surviving stories.
In March 2017, she participated in a witness sharing session with students during the 10,000 high school student signatures campaign and South Korean Hibakusha. In December 2024, Terumi participated in the "Peace Nobel Peace Prize Celebration Journey" (co-organized by Peace Boat and the Japan Council for Anti-Atomic and Anti-Gensuikyo khi Banking), visited Oslo on the occasion of Nihon Hidankyo organization receiving the Nobel Peace Prize...
In addition to Ms. Terumi, on the train, there are members of Nihon Hidankyo (the Federation of Bom A and H Bom Assistant Organization of Japan), won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2024 and the representative of the International Campaign to eliminate nuclear weapons (ICAN) - also won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2017. These are two organizations that have traditional partnerships with Vietnam -supported organizations in Vietnam. related to peace in the region and around the world.
In this journey, the Peace Ship Organization plans to organize a special project to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II with the theme "Moment for Peace".
The ship is expected to arrive at Ha Long International Port, Bai Chay, Ha Long City at 10:30 a.m. on April 30, 2025.
After arriving at the port, one group will visit Ha Long Bay and tourist attractions in Ha Long; the other group will stay logistics for cultural exchange activities and exhibition, painting exhibition, photo exhibition and lunch exchange on the ship.
