On the afternoon of May 30, the interdisciplinary inspection team of Soc Trang province inspected the C.P Fresh Shop store in My Xuyen town, My Xuyen district - one of the business locations of the C.P system in the province.
At the time of inspection, the store had few customers. There are 3 people, including 2 employees and 1 manager working.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Mai - Head store owner - said that all pork at the store has a clear origin and full documents and certificates. The meat is imported whole every day and only processed after coming to the store, absolutely not using pre-mixed meat from the outside. The products for sale all have quarantine and food safety certificates.
Regarding the images circulating on social networks about the suspicion of poor quality meat, Ms. Mai said that it was a photo taken in Hau Giang since 2022 and was not related to the facility in Soc Trang. The poster informed that the account "Jonny Lieu", who used to work at the store but has been out since 2023.
Mr. Lam Minh Hoang - Director of Soc Trang Livestock and Veterinary Department - said that after the actual inspection, the delegation recorded the facility to ensure all the conditions of food safety. Pork sold with slaughter control, clinical inspection and no signs of using chemicals or preservatives are harmful to consumers' health. During the inspection, the delegation discovered a car transporting pork. The owner of the vehicle has fully presented invoices and documents proving the origin of valid goods.
Mr. Hoang added that the whole Soc Trang province currently has 52 concentrated slaughterhouses. Veterinary forces are deployed to regularly check, especially at night to ensure strict control of meat sources for consumption.
"We are determined to strengthen inspection and control of the entire slaughter and distribution of pork. Up to now, no serious violations have been detected, Mr. Hoang affirmed.
