Mr. Hoang Ngoc Giang, technical officer at Dat Phuong Group Joint Stock Company, said - to keep up with the progress, the unit has arranged to work in "3 shifts", throughout the holidays, holidays, regardless of rain or shine. On the occasion of September 2, more than 20 engineers and workers were still working hard at the construction site, urgently completing the bridge deck, railings, and cleaning. Previously, bridge No. 29 under the same package was completed by the unit beyond the plan.
In package 11, Mr. Phung Ngoc Manh, representative of Brigade 99, Corps 12, Truong Son Construction Corporation, said that the unit is in charge of constructing 3 bridges. Currently, the 2 trees have completed the final items. The construction of the remaining bridge is being accelerated with the construction of the lower structure, girders, and piers. The overall progress of bridge items is currently basically meeting the requirements.
Mr. Manh said that to ensure progress, all forces were arranged to work in 3 shifts, 4 teams, not afraid of the sun and rain. The construction site has been fully arranged with temporary accommodation and accommodation for about 150 workers, to ensure health and maintain construction manpower, with the goal of completing the project on schedule, serving the travel needs and socio-economic development of local people.

According to the Management Board of Can Tho City Traffic and Agricultural Construction Investment Projects (PMU), the 3 component projects 2, 3, 4 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Phase 1 and the section passing through Can Tho City have a total length of more than 132 km, with a total investment of over VND 31,288 billion. Up to now, the compensation, support and resettlement work has been basically completed, creating conditions for the contractor to speed up construction.
The value of the implemented volume reached more than VND 8,748 billion, equivalent to 43.96% of the plan; VND 13,143/18,640 billion was disbursed, reaching 70.51% of the capital plan. To date, since sincedien100 has been constructed, the roadbed has been filled to the elevation of the embankment floor, nearly 62 km, and 11.3 km of additional filling has been completed.
The leader of the Project Management Board informed that currently, contractors are focusing on human resources, machinery, equipment, materials, opening more construction teams, working all night and on weekends in the spirit of "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain" to speed up progress, while ensuring quality, labor safety, fire prevention and fighting and environmental sanitation. The investor also directed consulting units and contractors to study and adjust the design and construction methods to shorten the time according to the direction of the Prime Minister.
Difficulties in sand sources are resolved
According to the Project Management Board, the total demand for sand of the project is about 20.1 million m3, of which 17.54 million m3 have been identified and 6.93 million m3 have been brought to the project. The remaining volume is 2.56 million m3. The Committee has requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment of the City to advise the People's Committee of Can Tho City to work with Dong Thap and Vinh Long to support about 1.2 million m3 for component project 4. At the same time, it proposed that the People's Committees of Dong Thap and Vinh Long provinces consider transferring sand from mines serving the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway to the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project.

The leader of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Can Tho City said that he will work with the People's Committees of Vinh Long and Dong Thap provinces on the supply of sand. It is expected that there will be about 1 million more m3 of cubic meters. According to preliminary calculations, the sand source for the expressway will basically meet the demand.
Can Tho City People's Committee also requested contractors and consultants to closely assess the capacity of each unit, prepare a detailed roadmap until July 2026 to complete the project, and put the key expressway into operation as soon as possible, serving the development of the Mekong Delta.
