Over the past time, many accidents related to construction and work near power lines have occurred in Lam Dong province.
It is noteworthy that the situation of cranes in the process of extending the cranes and moving got caught in the power grid, causing electric shock leading to serious consequences.
Recently, on the morning of March 30, in Ham Thang ward, Mr. N.H. C. H (born in 2003) was driving a crane to lift a tree. During operation, the crane was suspected of getting caught in a nearby medium-voltage power line, causing electric shock and catching fire. The incident caused the victim to be burned black and die on the spot.

Previously, at the end of July 2023, in Tan Thanh commune, a truck with a crane, while lifting a container, let the crane handle get caught in a medium-voltage power line. The incident caused electric shock, killing 1 person on the spot and seriously brightening another person.

Not only in construction activities, many electrical accidents also occur in daily life due to carelessness.
In November 2025, in Phu Sum village, Tuyen Quang commune, Mr. T.V. H (born 1972) went fishing, when throwing a rod, the fishing line got caught in the power line, leading to electric shock, causing the victim to suffer severe burns all over his body.

Similarly, on the afternoon of December 30, 2024 in Hong Son commune, Mr. D. T. P (born 1968) was driving a truck carrying acacia leaves. When encountering a section of road with low power lines, this person climbed onto the roof of the car to lift the power lines for the car to pass. During this process, the victim was electrocuted and died on the spot.
The above incidents show that the risk of electrical accidents is always present if people and construction units do not comply with safety regulations, especially when working near the power grid corridor.

Faced with this situation, Southern Power Corporation recommends that organizations, individuals and construction units should pay attention and not operate cranes, forklifts or large-sized equipment near power lines when the safe distance according to regulations has not been clearly determined.
All construction activities near the power grid corridor must be coordinated with the electricity sector to have safety assurance plans and avoid risks.
Units need to strengthen training and equip workers with knowledge about electrical safety, especially motor vehicle drivers and machinery operators.

The electricity industry also noted that when incidents such as electric shock, wire breakage or fire or explosion occur, people should not approach the dangerous area.
It is necessary to quickly leave the scene and notify the nearest functional agency or electricity unit for timely handling.
