Information from the People's Committee of Trà Lĩnh Commune, Trùng Khánh District, Cao Bằng Province, indicates that a large rainstorm occurred from 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM on August 10, causing flooding, landslides, and affecting the daily life and production of local residents.
Heavy Rain led to a significant accumulation of water, causing the water level on the stream in the commune to rise, resulting in flooding of residential areas; the daily life and production of local residents were severely disrupted.
The rising water level and strong water flow into the two banks of the stream caused landslides at some points on the taluy âm and taluy dương of the roads, posing a risk of landslides near the roads.
The People's Committee of Trà Lĩnh Commune is conducting an inspection, review, and damage assessment, and reporting to the higher authorities; at the same time, they are visiting and encouraging local residents to stabilize their daily life, work, and production after the flooding.
In the area of the National Special Relic Site of Pác Bó, the rising water level also caused flooding in some areas within the relic site, with murky and strong water flow, prompting the Management Board of the relic site to advise tourists to carefully consider their decision to visit.
According to calculations, the rainstorm on the night of August 10 caused heavy to very heavy rain with thunderstorms in various districts of Cao Bằng Province, with rainfall ranging from 50 to 100 mm, and in some areas exceeding 150 mm.
Warnings about the risk of flash floods, local landslides near rivers, streams, and hills, and construction sites, as well as flooding in low-lying areas, have been issued by relevant authorities.
