On July 8, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Le Thi Mai - Principal of Minh Son Kindergarten (Trieu Son commune, Thanh Hoa province) said that the school is currently still implementing summer teaching with about 80 students.

"Because Mr. Nguyen Van Lai's family recently built a fence in the middle of the school yard to reclaim land, it has greatly affected teaching and learning. This also affects the psychology and trust of parents" - Ms. Mai shared.
According to Ms. Mai, there are currently 3 classrooms and a headquarters on the land of Mr. Lai's family. After the incident, the school moved all students in these classrooms to the lower area (outside Mr. Lai's land) to continue studying.
For teachers and the Board of Directors, they currently have to temporarily go through an open door on the fence of Mr. Lai's family to enter the headquarters to participate in meetings and work.
"The school's only task is to care for and educate children. After the incident, the school reported it to the local authorities. However, Mr. Lai's family has filed a lawsuit in court and is waiting for the court to resolve the matter" - Ms. Mai said.
According to the Principal of Minh Son Kindergarten, the incident has a significant impact on the school's plans, because around the end of August every year, the school will enter the new school year. However, due to the impact of the incident, the school has not yet developed a specific plan for the upcoming school year.

Discussing the incident, Mr. Nguyen Van Lai confirmed that he had submitted a petition to the court, hoping that the incident would be resolved soon. In case the commune cannot issue or exchange land elsewhere, the commune must return the previously transferred land to the family to build a kindergarten. Along with that, he requested the demolition of construction works on his family's land.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on the morning of June 8, Mr. Nguyen Van Lai hired workers to build a wall in the central yard of Minh Son Kindergarten.
The reason for the incident comes from the fact that, in July 2014, the People's Committee of the old Minh Son commune (now Trieu Son commune) agreed with Mr. Nguyen Van Lai's family to exchange more than 950m2 of their family's residential land for another piece of land near the Commune Health Station to build the Minh Son Kindergarten's headquarters, serving the goal of meeting national standards.
After that, Mr. Lai's family handed over the land and received more than 50 million VND in site clearance support, with an agreement document. However, after 11 years, Mr. Lai has not yet been allocated land as committed. His family has repeatedly submitted petitions to the commune and district authorities but to no avail, forcing him to build a fence between the schoolyard.
