When reaching the section passing through Thang Binh District (Quang Nam), the car suddenly crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer with license plate number 29M-000.74 parked in the emergency lane.

The strong impact caused the front of the passenger bus to crush, the driver and bus assistant died on the spot due to being trapped in the cabin. 16 other passengers were injured, including 2 in serious condition, and were taken to Quang Nam General Hospital for emergency treatment.
Notably, most of the passengers on the bus were unskilled workers, including workers, electricians, construction workers... taking a bus from Hai Phong to Ho Chi Minh City to find a job, but unfortunately had an accident.

According to Lao Dong reporters at the Emergency Department - Quang Nam General Hospital, many victims are still in shock after the fatal collision. Mr. Nguyen Duc Thuan (24 years old, a worker from Hai Phong), with a broken lip, broken teeth and torn eyelids, still cannot recover when recounting:
"At around 1:30 a.m., the car stopped to fill up with gas, everyone got off to go to the toilet and returned to their seats. No one saw anything unusual. While sleeping on the rooster, I heard the driver screaming loudly and the car crashed into him so hard. When I opened my eyes, I saw the front of the motorbike trampled, people screaming everywhere.

Meanwhile, Mr. Do Dinh Thieu (48 years old, a construction worker, from Trieu Son - Thanh Hoa), had a broken leg and 5 stitches on his head, with many blood splashes on his shirt, recalling:
"The car door was jammed and could not be opened. Many injured people in the front row cried for help in panic. About 10 minutes later, those who were still conscious tried to sneak outside, through the cracked doors. I had broken legs and could not walk, but when I saw the bodies of the two dead right before my eyes, I knew I had to try to survive. I crawled out of the car through broken glass.

Outside, many injured people were lying on the leaking roadside, waiting for ambulances. I have never seen myself so close to death. Her leg is broken and she cannot go to work anymore. I am waiting for the police to complete the verification procedures and then take the car home for treatment before re-examining" - Mr. Thieu said in shock.
Many witnesses said that while people were still trapped inside the bus, another tractor-trailer driver traveling in the same direction stopped in time, helped get the injured out of the bus and called the authorities to come and rescue.
