In early February 2025, Binh Dinh province launched a Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the whole province, with the goal of "eliminating" 4,442 temporary and dilapidated houses within 4 months, with a total cost of more than 215 billion VND. To date, the whole province has completed more than 2,400 houses, reaching more than 50% of the plan.
To promptly complete the set schedule, Binh Dinh Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung has repeatedly urged and requested localities to urgently implement and complete the policy of improving housing for people before May 31.

He also frankly reminded officers who had the idea of wavering in their working positions when the province was in the period of rearranging the apparatus. "I suggest that, and when we do one day, we still work, complete the tasks set out, solve the security for the people," said the Secretary of the Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee.
Under the strong direction of the provincial leaders, localities such as Tay Son district and Tuy Phuoc district have "reached the finish line" ahead of schedule. Other localities such as Van Canh district, An Lao district... are also rushing to implement it to complete it on schedule.
Tuy Phuoc to complete ahead of schedule
In Tuy Phuoc district, all 114 houses for people with revolutionary contributions, relatives of martyrs, poor households, near-poor households and households newly escaped poverty have been completed and repaired with a total cost of more than 6.2 billion VND, 1 month earlier than planned.

Mr. Huynh Nam - Chairman of Tuy Phuoc District People's Committee - said that the locality has directed strongly and synchronously implemented many effective solutions to completely eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. In addition to the plan assigned by the province, organizations, units, businesses and individuals in the area also provide additional support to 12 poor and near-poor households to build new and repair houses with a total cost of 710 million VND, helping households stabilize their lives and escape poverty sustainably.
"The Steering Committees of communes, towns, fronts, associations, people and armed forces in the area have contributed nearly 1,000 working days and more than 255 million VND in cash to support disadvantaged households in the process of building and repairing houses," said Mr. Nam.
Tay Son exceeds schedule, exceeds target
In Tay Son district, after nearly 80 days of implementation, the locality has completed 278 temporary and dilapidated houses (192 newly built houses, 86 repaired houses) with a total cost of 40 billion VND.
Notably, in addition to the target assigned by the province, the district has mobilized nearly 5 billion VND from socialized sources to build 23 more houses for people in difficult circumstances. At the same time, an additional 200 million VND was mobilized to support equipment and household items for 40 poor households and households in special difficulties.

Tay Son District Party Secretary Nguyen Van Hung said that the completion of the plan and progress assigned by the province and the Central Government is the result of the sense of responsibility, the unanimity and effort of both the political system and the business community, people in the area.
Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Lam Hai Giang praised the proactive, creative and effective spirit of Tay Son district in not only completing it 1 month ahead of schedule assigned by the province but also 8 months ahead of schedule assigned by the Central Government. In particular, the district has effectively mobilized the cooperation of businesses and individuals, contributing to taking care of shelters for poor households and policy families.
To make the program more meaningful, Mr. Lam Hai Giang requested Tay Son district to continue reviewing, promptly detecting, and helping households so that no one has to live in dilapidated, unsafe houses.
