According to the Lao Cai Provincial Department of Transport, National Highway 4 is now open, allowing goods to be supplied to Simacai District via Muong Khuong. The landslide at Km231+700 on National Highway 4, in Ta Gia Khau Commune, Muong Khuong District, about 6 km from Ban Me Bridge (bordering Simacai District), was opened to traffic last night (September 11).
After nearly a day of organizing to fix the landslide at Km 25+500, National Highway 4E, the section through Trung Do village, Bao Nhai commune, the first step of the route has been opened to serve people's travel.
However, there are still sections of National Highway 279 (Bao Ha - Pho Rang), National Highway 4E (Bat Xat - A Mu Sung), and National Highway 279 (Van Ban - Minh Luong) that are not yet open. In addition, on Provincial Roads 151, 152, 153, 154, 155, 156, 156B, 160, and 162, there are many locations that have been eroded and flooded, causing traffic jams.
In particular, because the landslide at Km249 is very large and continues to develop complicatedly, Road Management Area I has ordered to stop traffic on the left branch of the expressway from Km248+500 - Km251+700 and stop the access to IC19.
Vehicles going from Kim Thanh to Hanoi, get off at IC19 intersection and go in the following direction: National Highway 4D --> Kim Tan Bridge --> Le Thanh Street --> Phu Thinh Street --> Vo Nguyen Giap Street --> National Highway 4E --> IC18 intersection (Km245, Binh Minh Ward, Lao Cai City) --> Hanoi.
In addition, the road connecting Lao Cai city with Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway (IC18 intersection) is experiencing landslides, so vehicles traveling through here should be careful.
Due to the impact of storm No. 3 in Lao Cai, many flash floods and landslides occurred, killing 72 people; 111 people missing; 70 people injured and 8,624 houses flooded and buried by rocks and soil.
Yesterday (September 11), nearly 100 relief teams with hundreds of trucks carrying drinking water, instant noodles, dried food and other essential items such as life jackets, blankets, clothes... arrived in Lao Cai to support people in flooded areas.
