Difficulties when the rainy season begins
According to the actual records of reporters in the last days of June, the construction site of the Long Thanh airport project in Dong Nai province has begun to enter the rainy season, causing many difficulties in construction.
However, a representative of the Long Thanh Airport Project Management Board said that the construction is still guaranteed throughout in the spirit of overcoming the sun and overcoming the rain. Accordingly, since the previous inspection, ministries, agencies, investors, construction contractors, and consulting units have made efforts to implement.
However, the workload is still very large, many items must be implemented simultaneously. Large and important packages are behind schedule (package 4.7 is behind schedule schedule, package 4.8 is behind schedule schedule, package 5.10 is only behind schedule, only reaching 31.3%), while the completion schedule requirement is very short, only over 6 months, many factors are unpredictable such as weather (there is a rainy season).
Among the component projects of Long Thanh airport, component project 3 with package 5.10 for the construction of a passenger terminal is considered the gantt road for the progress of the entire project.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) and its design consultant to carefully review the project's design, if necessary, immediately research and supplement, ensuring that design solutions and the use of advanced materials comply with current standards, regulations and technical and quality requirements of the 5-star international airport, especially solutions for waterproofing and leakage.

ACV will develop a detailed schedule and implementation plan to determine the completion date as December 31, 2025.
Construction in 3 shifts to speed up progress
For component project one, deploy headquarters of State management agencies to ensure completion progress before December 31, 2025 ( note that the headquarters of animal and plant quarantine stations have started construction slowly).
Component project 2, works serving flight management have a very important position in the operation and exploitation of the airport, and must be completed at the same time as other component projects.
Component project 4, Vietnam Airlines Corporation (VNA), Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (VJ) quickly deployed bidding packages immediately after being selected as investors, ensuring completion before December 31, 2025 to synchronously exploit Long Thanh Airport.
The Deputy Prime Minister also requested to increase machinery and equipment, increase human resources, increase construction teams, organize construction at the same time on the entire construction site in the spirit of "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain, not losing to storms and winds", "3 shifts, 4 teams", constructing "over holidays, through Tet, through holidays" to speed up the project's progress.
The Ministry of Construction is assigned to coordinate with the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), investors to review and specifically and fully identify the tasks/packages to be completed by December 31, 2025 for each package, construction items, and component projects.
Regarding the project of the raw material transportation system from the source port to the project boundary, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee urgently selected an investor, completed in July 2025 to implement the project; Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee also urgently completed all site clearance work, handed over to investors (the remaining area of the T3 drainage line and the fence within 5,000ha)...
