On May 21, a working group of the Ministry of Construction led by Minister Tran Hong Minh inspected the construction sites of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project and Long Thanh airport in Dong Nai province.

For the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project, according to Project Management Board 85 (Ministry of Construction), the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway component project 2 (more than 18km long through Long Thanh district) has reached 51% of output. The most difficult thing at present is land clearance problems, especially the technical infrastructure system (14 locations of high-voltage, medium-voltage and low-voltage power lines that need to be relocated and lowered).
Component project 1, Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway (more than 16km long through Bien Hoa City and Long Thanh District) is also accelerating the progress with 34 construction teams.
On May 21, the working group also inspected the site of the bidding packages at the Long Thanh airport project.
According to the Long Thanh Airport Project Management Board, up to now, package 4.6 has basically completed the runway item, the signal lighting system has been lit, and the operation has been successfully tested.
Package 5.10, construction of Long Thanh airport passenger terminal also strives to complete the construction before December 31, then complete the installation of the equipment system for testing. The consortium of contractors mobilized nearly 5,000 human resources and more than 1,000 equipment under construction, with a total completed value of about VND 13,504 billion. Currently, the underground reinforced concrete structure, floors 1-4, and rough construction have been completed at 72%, and painting, ceilings are being completed...
As for package 6.12, the construction of the traffic route connecting Long Thanh airport has so far opened to technical traffic on T1 road, and is continuing to construct the bridge and T2 road, completing asphalt pavement, planting trees in sections...
At the inspection point, Minister Tran Hong Minh visited, encouraged and presented gifts to engineers and construction workers "3 shifts, 4 teams" day and night at the 2 projects.

After the field inspection, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh and the working delegation of the Ministry of Construction worked with the People's Committee of Dong Nai province and investors and contractors related to the two projects of Long Thanh airport and Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway.
According to Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), runway No. 1 has been completed, 3 months ahead of schedule and has successfully tested the traffic light system. For the implementation of the second runway, ACV quickly selected consultants in special cases to establish and review technical designs. The dossier has also been appraised by the Ministry of Construction, and ACV is currently implementing the next steps, striving to start the second runway on May 30.
Regarding connecting transportation, ACV proposed to soon expand the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh expressway to 10 lanes as planned to ensure effective operation and conversion of international flights from Tan Son Nhat airport to Long Thanh.
Mr. Ho Van Ha - Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee said that the locality will strive to complete the site as soon as possible and quickly relocate technical infrastructure so that units can speed up construction.
Also at the meeting, contractors constructing airports and expressways requested Dong Nai province leaders to create conditions for early support of soil and rock materials to meet the project's progress requirements.
