By 7:30 a.m., Cau Coc Street (Tay Mo Ward, Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi) was deeply flooded due to the impact of prolonged heavy rains.
Talking to reporters, Ms. Thao - a resident of Phuc Son commune (old My Duc district) - said that she woke up at 3am to carry pork to Cau Coc street to sell. However, when she reached the beginning of the street, all the roads were submerged in water, forcing her to use a boat to move to the sales point.

"Our people have suffered a lot because of the recent heavy rains. Traveling and trading are very difficult because the roads are isolated and flooded. I hope the Hanoi City government will soon have a solution to fix the infrastructure and end the situation where every rain causes flooding," Ms. Thao expressed.

Similar to Ms. Thao's situation of tears and laughter, at more than 2am, Mr. Le Van Hien (Chuong My ward) drove 2 pigs to Vuong Thua Vu street to sell wholesale and retail. Coming to Tran Phu Street (Ha Dong Ward), Mr. Hien was very worried because the water started to rise rapidly, and the rain poured out like a drizzle.
Mr. Hien and his wife struggled to drive a 3-wheel vehicle, carrying goods to the sales point, and the whole street could no longer distinguish between the sidewalk and the road. Mr. Hien was even more frustrated because he opened his phone, many acquaintances with restaurants, noodle shops, and pho texted him not to take the goods or take the quantity because their stall was also heavily flooded and had no customers.

"Seeing the two pigs that had been slaughtered by my wife, I was confused and didn't know what to do. I had to urge my wife to wait for the rain to stop and invite people in flooded alleys who could not get out, and I would give the rest to the customers to make shrimp, sausages at affordable prices... I just hope I don't have to bring too much meat home to eat gradually," said Mr. Hien.
