Recorded at Tinh Ky and Tinh Khe ports near Tet, the fleet of boats of Tra Cau ward fishermen specializing in tuna fishing is bustling at the port after long sea trips.

After 17 days of leaving the port to fish in the Hoang Sa fishing grounds, fisherman Nguyen Dinh Quoc's fishing boat (Tra Cau ward) brought back about 5 tons of seafood, including 2 tons of tuna.

The atmosphere at the fishing port became bustling when each tuna was brought ashore, traders were waiting to buy, pack and transport it for consumption, serving export processing.

Currently, the price of tuna fluctuates from 100,000 - 120,000 VND/kg, each fish weighing from 20 - 80kg. In addition to tuna, the fleet specializing in flying fish catching also has a bumper crop.

Fresh batches of flying fish, with shiny silver bodies, still soaked in seawater, are quickly sorted and brought to the market for consumption.

The ship compartments full of fish and the radiant smiles of fishermen when docking have brought the breath of spring from the sea to the mainland. The bumper fish season not only brings a full Tet to Quang Ngai fishermen but also adds faith for the ships to continue to reach out to sea and stick to the sea in the new year.

Quang Ngai currently has nearly 5,200 fishing boats, one of the localities that owns a powerful seafood exploitation fleet of the whole country. Fishermen here are also experienced in exploitation in the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa fishing grounds.
