Due to the impact of heavy rain in recent days, water from upstream has continuously poured in, causing the water level of hydroelectric reservoirs to rise. To ensure safe operation of the plant and safety of downstream areas, hydropower plants in the Chay River basin have announced the release of floodwaters from reservoirs.
On the afternoon of July 1, Bac Ha Hydropower Joint Stock Company issued a notice that the discharge through the spillway was 596.04m3/s; the discharge through the turbine was 185.92m3/s; the total discharge downstream was 781.96m3/s.
Along with Bac Ha Hydropower Plant, hydropower plants in Chay River basin such as Bao Nhai Hydropower Plant level 1, Bao Nhai Hydropower Plant level 2, Nam Luc Hydropower Plant, Vinh Ha Hydropower Plant, Phuc Long Hydropower Plant also announced an increase in flood discharge flow downstream compared to previous days.
In the face of simultaneous flood discharge from hydropower plants causing water levels on the Chay River to rise, localities downstream of the hydropower plant are urgently deploying, inspecting, reviewing, and continuing to propagate and instruct people to stay away from, avoid, and ensure the safety of life and property.
