According to the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) of Ho Chi Minh City Police, the adjustment is to ensure traffic order and safety during the event organization. In which, the torch relay recording activity takes place from 10:00 PM on April 16, 2026; the official torch relay is expected to be held at 8:30 PM on April 19, 2026.
The torch relay route starts from the Ho Chi Minh Museum branch in Ho Chi Minh City (Nha Rong wharf) passing through Nguyen Tat Thanh - Khanh Hoi bridge - Ton Duc Thang - Ba Son bridge - R12 - D6 - N12 streets and ends at Saigon Riverside Park.
To serve the program, functional forces will temporarily suspend vehicles from circulating on some routes according to the following time frame:
Restricted circulation time during the recording day is from 9:55 PM to 10:20 PM on April 16; on the official day from 8:30 PM to 9:00 PM on April 19.
Affected routes include:
Nguyen Tat Thanh Street (section from Hoang Dieu street to Khanh Hoi bridge): Temporarily suspend vehicles entering Nguyen Tat Thanh street towards Khanh Hoi bridge to Ton Duc Thang.
Da Cau Khanh Hoi (section from Vo Van Kiet street down to the bridge deck): Temporarily suspend vehicles from Vo Van Kiet street down to the bridge deck of Khanh Hoi into Ton Duc Thang.
Da Cau Khanh Hoi (section from the University of Law Roundabout down to the bridge deck): Temporarily suspend vehicles from Ben Van Don to Nguyen Tat Thanh street to go up to Khanh Hoi bridge (main gate of Ho Chi Minh Museum - Ben Nha Rong).
Ton Duc Thang Street: Traffic direction section from Khanh Hoi bridge to the Ba Son bridge access branch.
The entire branch leading to Ba Son bridge (along Bach Dang Park).
Part of the road surface of Ba Son bridge, R12 road (direction from Ba Son bridge down to R12 road towards To Huu road).
The entire D6 and N12 roads leading to Saigon Riverside Park (the venue for the Opening Ceremony).
The alternative route is as follows:
Direction from Xom Chieu ward to Saigon ward: Nguyen Tat Thanh street - Hoang Dieu - Calmette bridge - Calmette - Tran Hung Dao - Le Loi - Pasteur.
Direction from Saigon ward to An Khanh ward: Vo Van Kiet - Pasteur - Le Duan - Ton Duc Thang street - up Ba Son bridge (or Ton Duc Thang street - Nguyen Huu Canh - Thu Thiem bridge).
The Traffic Police Department recommends that people when traveling through the above area during the event organization should proactively choose a suitable route, reduce speed, and comply with the instructions of functional forces and traffic signal systems. At the same time, do not stop or park on the road or at intersections to follow the event, avoiding causing congestion.
