6 bridges to be built in Hanoi
According to information from the Hanoi People's Committee, in 2025, Hanoi will start construction on 6 new bridges.
In particular, Thuong Cat bridge has a total length of more than 5.2km, designed with 8 lanes (6 motor lanes and 2 non-motor lanes), the main bridge width is 35m, the approach bridge is 31m. The southern approach road has a typical cross-section of 60m, (6 motor lanes, 2 non-motor lanes on the main route and 2 parallel roads). The northern approach road has a typical cross-section of 50m (4 motor lanes, 2 parallel roads).
The starting point of the project is at the intersection with Ky Vu Street, Thuong Cat Ward, Bac Tu Liem District. The end point is at the intersection with Road 23B, Dai Mach Commune, Dong Anh District. The total investment of this project is more than 7,200 billion VND.
In addition to Thuong Cat Bridge, the three bridges Tu Lien, Tran Hung Dao and Ngoc Hoi will also complete procedures to approve investment policies in the first quarter of 2025. These are three projects that play an important role in the capital's internal and external transportation system, connecting with neighboring provinces and cities.
The Tu Lien Bridge project will be located between Nhat Tan Bridge and Long Bien Bridge, connecting Yen Phu and Tu Lien wards (Tay Ho District) with Dong Anh District; connecting from the planned urban main road along Huu Hong Dike with National Highway 5 extension, in Tay Ho District, Long Bien District and Dong Anh District.
According to the plan, Tu Lien Bridge has a total length of 11.5km. Including: the main bridge and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge are about 5.5km long; the connecting road to the bridge in Dong Anh district is about 6km long. The total estimated investment is 22,000 billion VND. Tu Lien Bridge is expected to start construction in the third quarter of 2025.
Tran Hung Dao Bridge is located between Chuong Duong Bridge and Vinh Tuy Bridge. In the city center, the foot of the bridge is expected to be at the intersection of Tran Hung Dao - Tran Thanh Tong Street. In Long Bien, the end point is at the intersection with National Highway 5A (Nguyen Van Linh Street).
According to the project implementation unit, the total land area for the project is about 75.5 hectares. The bridge is built permanently with a scale of 6 lanes for motor vehicles, 2 lanes for bicycles, 2 lanes for pedestrians, and a design speed of 80km/h.
The project has a total investment of over 16,300 billion VND, invested by the Hanoi City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board. According to the selected plan, the main bridge is 900m long, including 6 spans, the total length of the bridge and the approach roads at both ends is about 5.6km.
Ngoc Hoi Bridge is 13.8km long, with 6 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 mixed lanes. The two ends are located in Thanh Tri District (Hanoi) and Van Duc Commune, Gia Lam District (Hanoi). Adjacent to Van Duc Commune is Van Giang Town, Van Giang District (Hung Yen Province). The Ngoc Hoi Bridge project across the Red River is estimated to cost 4,880 billion VND.
The Me So and Hong Ha bridges of the Ring Road 4 project will also be implemented soon, in sync with the parallel road system expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
The Me So Bridge project is designed with a length of about 13.8km, a width of 17m and a total estimated cost of 4,881 billion VND. The Hong Ha Bridge has a total investment of about 9,800 billion VND, the length of the bridge and approach roads is about 6km.
Many bridges will be invested by the Ministry of Transport.
According to information from the Ministry of Transport, in 2025, many large bridges will be started. At the conference to summarize the work in 2024 and deploy key tasks in 2025, Minister of Transport Tran Hong Minh said that among the 12 projects that will be started in the first quarter of 2025, there are some bridge construction projects. These are the Cam Ly railway bridge (Bac Giang); the project to upgrade and expand a number of bridges and tunnels on National Highway 1 (Xuong Giang, Gianh, Quan Hau bridges and Deo Ngang tunnel)...
In the second quarter of 2025, a major bridge-related project is the project to renovate weak bridges and connecting bridges on national highways (Phase 2) and the project to build Ninh Cuong bridge on National Highway 37B.
