Working at the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project site, Mr. Le Minh Thao said that during the time approaching the Lunar New Year 2025, at the construction site, workers were still working enthusiastically, taking advantage of a quick meal to complete the construction on time, bringing the project to the finish line early and handing it over as committed to the investor.

Mr. Nguyen Nam Phong - Director of the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Project Management Board - said that the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project has been completed over 79%, ahead of the general schedule by more than 4%. The main bridge - Rach Mieu 2 Bridge in particular is ahead of schedule by more than 24%.

The road section under construction on the entire route is about 14 km, 100% complete of the embankment work to treat weak soil (in the consolidation stage). Currently, 10/14 km of the load is being unloaded, and about 4 km of asphalt concrete has been laid in each segment. It is expected that the entire route (including roads and bridges on the route) on the Ben Tre side will be completed before June 30, 2025.

Regarding the bridge section, 4/6 bridges have been completed (Xoai Hot bridge, My Tho bridge, Tam Son bridge and Ba Lai bridge), the remaining 2 bridges are under construction (Rach Mieu 2 main bridge and Song Ma bridge), of which Song Ma bridge is expected to be completed before June 2025.

As for the main bridge section of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge, as of October 24, 2024, 100% of the towers of P19 and P20 have been completed. The bridge deck has completed the beam block up to K10 (block K10/13 blocks) at the cable-stayed piers P19 and P20, the SK11 beam block on the anchor piers P18 and P21 has been completed. Currently, workers are installing and tensioning the cable-stayed cable bundle No. 88/112 cable-stayed cable bundles. The plan is to close the edge in April 2025, close the middle in August 2025, open the technical traffic on September 2, 2025, and complete the entire project before October 30, 2025.

Mr. Nguyen Nam Phong also said that currently, at the construction site, the units are continuing to maintain the implementation of 3 shifts, 4 teams (with a total of about 30 construction heads and about 150 construction equipment, 500 workers and 83 technical staff). During the Tet At Ty 2025, the units have proactively arranged and organized the construction of the main items until the last day of the old year. In addition, during the Tet holidays, auxiliary works, concrete maintenance, road surface maintenance, ensuring safety work, etc. are still being carried out. The units organize rotation of teams and groups to work at the construction site, ensuring that workers and engineers have Tet with their families and also complete the common tasks of the Rach Mieu 2 bridge project in parallel.

The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project connects Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces, with a route length of about 17.6km. This project has a total investment of more than 6,810 billion VND, and was started at the end of March 2022. The scale is 4 lanes, the design speed is 80km/h, and is expected to be completed in 2025. When completed, the project will contribute to reducing traffic congestion at the existing Rach Mieu Bridge.
