Urgently construct a series of key disaster prevention projects
In May, on the Red River mouth dike in Giao Hoa and Giao Minh communes (Ninh Binh province), the construction atmosphere at the Con Tu and Con Nam culvert construction project took place urgently. Dozens of workers and machinery and equipment were mobilized to accelerate progress and soon complete the project before the 2026 rainy and storm season.
Accordingly, the works are built with reinforced concrete, using stainless steel valve doors, electric winch opening and closing systems, combined with reinforcement of canals, slopes and bottoms of upstream and downstream canals.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Dung - Supervisor of 2 Con Tu and Con Nam culvert projects - said that currently, the construction progress of basic items is closely following the set plan, reaching more than 80% of the volume and filling up to the flood and storm prevention elevation, 2 culvert shafts of 2 culverts have been installed. The construction site is divided into 4 construction teams.
In Hai Thinh commune, units are constructing component project No. 2 of Con Tron sea dike, Hai Thinh (Hai Thinh commune, Ninh Binh province), belonging to the Project to consolidate, complete and treat sea dike erosion in some Northern provinces (also known as the Project to consolidate, complete and treat sea dike erosion in Hai Thinh commune) with a total investment of about 500 billion VND.
According to reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper, in May, the construction of the final items is gradually being completed to ensure safety before the rainy and storm season.

Increasing the ability to prevent and combat natural disasters along the coast and rivers
According to the Ninh Binh Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 2, Con Tu culvert and Con Nam culvert belong to the project to handle landslides and infiltration of some dike and embankment sections to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 and floods after the storm on river dikes in Nam Dinh province (old), now Ninh Binh province. When completed, the works will contribute to improving drainage capacity, serving agricultural production, reducing the risk of landslides, and at the same time protecting the safety of the Red River mouth dike and riverside residential areas.
For the project to consolidate and complete and handle sea dike erosion in Hai Thinh commune, the project is expected to help prevent erosion, reduce waves, cause alluviation, and enhance the safety of the existing sea dike; protect residents and infrastructure inside the dike.
In addition, the project also serves disaster prevention and control, sea dike rescue in case of incidents, contributing to stabilizing people's lives and promoting socio-economic development in coastal areas.
