Tra Khuc River flows through the center of Quang Ngai province and currently has 4 projects with a total investment of nearly VND 2,290 billion being implemented, including the Tra Khuc River downstream dam project (nearly VND 1,500 billion); the Tinh An and Tinh Long anti-landslide embankment project (230 billion VND); the Tinh Long and Tinh Khe anti-landslide embankment project (180 billion VND) and the Tra Khuc River anti-landslide embankment project (380 billion VND). All 4 projects are invested by the Quang Ngai Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board.
The Tra Khuc River downstream dam project will be implemented from 2018 - 2025, with the Quang Ngai Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board as the investor. This is one of the province's key projects, with multi-purpose nature: both preserving water, creating urban landscape, developing urban areas on both sides of the river, and contributing to raising the stature of the center of Quang Ngai province.
Currently, the site bottleneck has been removed, and the contractor is speeding up construction. To date, the total completed volume of the project has reached about 88.5% of the construction value. The investor and contractors are trying to complete the project by the end of 2025.
Not far away, the project to prevent landslides combined with the creation of Tinh An and Tinh Long land funds and the project to prevent landslides combined with the creation of Tinh Long and Tinh Khe land funds also sprayed. To remove the "bottleneck" for this project, Quang Ngai province is directing the focus on removing site obstacles for 65 cases at the anti-landslide embankment project combined with the creation of land funds for Tinh An and Tinh Long, requiring the complete resolution of this problem in October 2025.
According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Sam - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, the provincial leaders have proposed that the institutions to resolve the rights of the people be satisfactory on the basis of legal regulations. People still obstructed but forced land acquisition, focused on construction, and disbursed capital to reach 100% of the plan assigned in 2025.
Meanwhile, at the project of embankment to prevent landslides and enhance the landscape of Tra Khuc river, the project will be implemented at the end of 2024, the contractor is focusing all its efforts to complete the project, creating a highlight for Quang Ngai urban area.
According to the design, the project will build a new 1.2km embankment along the southern bank of Tra Khuc river, renovate Ba To flower garden, and invest in a riverside park on the northern section of Ton Duc Thang - Ba Trieu road. Up to now, the embankment item has been completed, exceeding the schedule. Other items such as walking paths in the park, cheap fan squares, technical infrastructure... are also being deployed simultaneously
The consortium of contractors is speeding up the completion of the section from Tra Khuc 2 bridge to Tra Khuc 1 bridge and Ba To park before December 2025, in time to serve people to enjoy spring and celebrate the Lunar New Year 2026.
Mr. Tran Hoang Vinh - Director of the Quang Ngai Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the investor has inspected each item of each project and directed contractors to mobilize maximum human resources, machinery, and finance to focus on construction, including completing the dam project and two embankment projects to combine to create land funds in 2025.
