Accompanying and supporting people to rise up
In recent years, poverty reduction and socio-economic development in rural areas and ethnic minority areas have always received the attention of the Party and the State.
Krong No commune (Dak Lak province) is a locality with many difficulties in terms of natural conditions and people's lives. In recent times, there have been many typical examples of prestigious people in the community, actively supporting workers in production, gradually escaping poverty, and stabilizing their lives.

These examples not only contribute to changing the face of the local economy but also spread the spirit of self-reliance and self-reliance in the community.
Mr. Y Krang Ndu - a prestigious person in Phi Dih Ja B trading - said that the trading floor currently has 200 households. It is expected that in 2025, 6 poor households will move to near-poor status and 4 near-poor households will escape poverty.
Previously, people's lives mainly depended on growing coffee and rice. Meanwhile, plant care techniques are not really effective, income is unstable, many bad customs in the factory, wedding rings still exist...

According to Mr. Y Krang Ndu, when he was first elected as a prestigious person by the people, he realized the need to change production thinking to help the villagers escape poverty sustainably. For households with land for production, he directly guides farming techniques to increase crop productivity.
For households receiving livelihood support from the National Target Program such as breeding cows and seedlings, he regularly encourages people to appreciate the State's support, and shares experiences in livestock farming and fertilizers to increase production efficiency.
Mr. M Bri Rongang (residing in Phi Dih Ja B village) shared that his family was previously in a difficult situation, raising two young children, and growing rice all year round, but there was still hunger. Thanks to the encouragement of prestigious people and local authorities, he boldly converted 2 hectares of rice to grow coffee, helping his income increase significantly. By 2024, his family will officially escape poverty.
Speaking about more than 10 years of working as a prestigious person, Mr. Y Krang Ndu modestly said that the changes in transport infrastructure and people's lives are thanks to the attention of the Party, the State and authorities at all levels. I myself only try to fulfill my responsibility when the people trust and elect me, he shared.

Doing it alone
According to the People's Committee of Krong No commune, many households in the area used to still produce according to old, broken customs, low efficiency; unstable life, high poverty rate.
Faced with that reality, the team of prestigious people has proactively researched, learned and applied new production models suitable to local conditions such as growing short-term industrial crops, fruit trees, raising livestock and poultry in the direction of goods.
After effectively implementing on their own land, they persistently mobilize and instruct people to follow, from seed selection, care, disease prevention to calculating costs and product output.

Ms. H'Can Ro Luc - Head of the Department of Culture - Social Affairs of Krong No commune - said that not only supporting production techniques, prestigious people also actively help people access preferential loans from the State.
Through propaganda, prestigious people have clearly explained poverty reduction policies, they help people clearly understand the rights and responsibilities when borrowing capital for economic development.
Thanks to that dedicated encouragement and guidance, many poor households have boldly invested in production, gradually increasing their income, and improving their lives.

According to Ms. H'Can Ro Loc, the whole commune currently has 13 prestigious people, all of whom are knowledgeable about customs and practices, have experience in production and are trusted and respected by the people. Not only are they exemplary in developing the family economy, they are also willing to share experiences and support people around to do business together.
With the motto " Saying goes hand in hand with doing", prestigious people have become a solid spiritual support, creating confidence for people to boldly change their way of thinking and doing, gradually rising up to develop the economy.
