Not stopping at propaganda, the locality also creates conditions for prestigious people to participate in mass organizations and receive training in agricultural and forestry production techniques.
From there, they become a bridge to spread knowledge and production experience, helping people proactively develop household economy.
Mr. Pham Van Tao (born in 1970, Du village) is one of the outstanding prestigious people. Not only did he encourage people to abandon bad customs, he also directly accompanied people in production and animal husbandry.
Sharing about the process of being attached to the village, Mr. Pham Van Tao said: I have been attached to the village for decades. Only by changing their thinking and working style can people escape poverty, be content enough and have the conditions to build more spacious houses".
From his prestige and responsibility, Mr. Tao has created a positive influence, contributing to promoting the movement to eliminate bad customs and develop the local economy.
"The work of propagating and disseminating laws and eliminating backward customs of ethnic minorities is not simple. The team of prestigious people, party cell secretaries, and village chiefs must be experienced people with good family economic foundations.
At that time, we say that people are willing to listen and follow. If the grassroots staff does not have a spirit of enthusiasm, saying no and doing it will be very difficult to convince the people," Mr. Tao added.
Many clear changes
Ia Lap Commune Party Committee currently has 22 Party cells with 368 Party members. According to Mr. Lang Van Tuyen - Secretary of the Chieng village Party Cell, in recent years, thanks to social security policies and the National Target Program on Poverty Reduction, Ia Lap's appearance has had many clear changes.
Many households have escaped poverty, have the conditions to invest in production and repair of houses; social evils have decreased sharply, and their awareness of law compliance has been raised.
Most households have access to electricity and hygienic domestic water; many inter-village roads have been concreted, creating favorable conditions for travel and trade.
Mr. Cao Thanh Hoai - Head of the Department of Culture - Social Affairs of Ia Lap commune - said that in the early stages of implementing the National Target Program, localities faced many difficulties due to limited awareness of the people and persistent customs.
However, the team of cadres and party members have set an example, practiced a sense of responsibility, gradually created trust and motivation for people to change their thinking.
We adhere to the goal of rapid and sustainable poverty reduction, creating a better living environment for people in ethnic minority areas, Mr. Hoai emphasized.
With the participation of the entire political system, along with the core role of village elders and prestigious people, Ia Lap is gradually transforming, towards sustainable socio-economic development in the period of 2025-2030.
