On the afternoon of June 1st, Ba Don Ward People's Committee, Quang Tri province, said that it had received a report from Quang Binh Water Supply Joint Stock Company about the abnormal pollution of water supplied to people in the area.
Previously, in the afternoon of May 31, many households in Ba Don ward reflected that domestic water from the centralized water supply system was dark brown, cloudy yellow. This situation affects people's eating, hygiene and essential living needs.
Many people expressed concern about the quality of water sources as well as the risk of affecting health if they continue to use unguaranteed water sources.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hoang (resident of Chinh Truc residential group, Ba Don ward) said that in the afternoon of May 31, his family discovered that tap water was seriously cloudy and dirty, and could not be used for daily life.
My family has to ask for well water from neighbors to serve hygiene and daily needs," said Mr. Xuan Hoang.
After receiving information and reports from the water supply unit, Ba Don Ward People's Committee assigned the Economic, Infrastructure and Urban Department of the ward to coordinate with relevant agencies and units to inspect, verify and coordinate with the water supply unit to implement treatment solutions to ensure people's lives.
According to Quang Binh Water Supply Joint Stock Company, the domestic water source serving people in Ba Don ward is currently managed and distributed by Ba Don Water Supply Branch. This clean water source is produced by BIWASE Quang Binh Joint Stock Company at Guangzhou Water Plant, then sold to Ba Don Water Supply Branch to supply to households in the area.
Immediately after detecting the incident, the Board of Directors of Quang Binh Water Supply Joint Stock Company directed Ba Don Water Supply Branch to notify customers about the temporary suspension of water supply to handle the incident, and at the same time carry out the discharge of the entire water supply pipeline network in the area.
The water supply unit also recommends that people open the water tap for a few minutes before using it again to remove the amount of water stagnant in the pipeline.
In addition, Quang Binh Water Supply Joint Stock Company has requested BIWASE Quang Binh Joint Stock Company to urgently fix the incident and carry out the discharge of the entire main transmission pipeline to ensure that clean water is safely restored to the people.
By the afternoon of June 1, relevant units were still coordinating to handle the incident to soon restore water supply.
