On May 17, according to reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper, clean water supplied to Loc Ha commune to many households is still yellow and cloudy, with a lot of black sediment.
Mr. Pham Minh Cuong (72 years old, residing in Xuan Phuong village) said that a few weeks ago, tap water appeared cloudy yellow, with a lot of sediment. After that, people reflected that Thach Bang water plant announced that it would carry out pipe cleaning from May 13 - May 20.
There are still 3 days until the drainage period ends. At that time, we don't know the water quality, but as it is now, the water is still cloudy yellow, not guaranteed. Looking at the water color, we are not satisfied," Mr. Cuong shared.
Mr. Cuong's wife - Ms. Tran Thi Dong (65 years old) - said that at times when tap water appears cloudy yellow, with a lot of sediment, her family has to lock the meter, only using water pumped and stored on the tank for drinking, and using well water for bathing and washing.
Every year, there are usually a few times when tap water is dirty, cloudy yellow, and has a lot of sediment. We hope the water plant will thoroughly fix it, and provide guaranteed quality water for people to use with peace of mind," Ms. Dong said.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Luong (resident of Xuan Phuong village) also complained about the quality of clean water. According to Ms. Luong, when clean water is not guaranteed, has a cloudy yellow color, and many black sediments appear, her family uses it unrestrainedly, worried about affecting health.
Ms. Luong also hopes that the water plant will thoroughly overcome the situation of unclean clean water to help people feel secure in using it. Because, according to Ms. Luong, every year, the situation of unsafe clean water, with many black, cloudy yellow sediment still occasionally appears in batches.
According to a representative of Loc Ha Commune People's Committee, after people's reflections on cloudy clean water, many sediments, and substandard quality, the locality contacted and requested Thach Bang water plant to determine the cause and urgently fix it.
After that, representatives of the water plant committed to implementing measures to overcome, in order to ensure quality domestic water supply for people.
On May 17, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh - operating staff of Thach Bang water plant - said that Thach Bang water plant supplies domestic water to 9,000 customers in Loc Ha and Hong Loc communes.
According to Ms. Anh, recently the weather was sunny and dry, then heavy rain appeared, which affected the quality of the raw water source, thereby partly affecting the operation of clean water production of the plant.
Ms. Anh said that the factory is currently in the process of organizing pipeline cleaning (starting from May 13), and is expected to be completed by May 20.
Up to now, after 5 days of remediation, the water at the factory is clear and guaranteed. Therefore, it is hoped that after May 20, when the washing of the pipeline going through branches to residential areas is completed, the water supplied to people will have reached quality.
According to Ms. Anh, in case by May 20, if the water quality in a certain area is not guaranteed, the plant can maintain more washing time to supply quality domestic water to people.
Talking to Lao Dong newspaper, Mr. Tu Huu Hanh - Manager of Thach Bang Water Plant also affirmed that the plant is focusing on overcoming the problem with the goal of completing it by May 20. If by May 20, the water in some places and areas is still not guaranteed, the unit will continue to maintain water pipe cleaning with the determination to ensure water quality to serve the people.
