On October 16, the "Conference to evaluate the results of OCOP product development and rural tourism in the period of 2021-2025, with a vision to the period of 2026-2030" took place in Hanoi.
Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Thanh Nam affirmed that the One Commune One Product Program and the Rural Tourism Program have been gradually " awakening" the indigenous cultural values and unique ecological landscapes of the rural areas.


"The program of one commune for one product has strongly affected the scale conversion from small-scale agricultural production to production in the direction of linking value chains, building stable local raw material areas; promoting the startup movement, developing more industries and commercial services in rural areas, opening a new direction for livelihood development in particularly difficult areas and vulnerable groups such as ethnic minorities and women", Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam shared.
As of September 2025, the country has had nearly 17,400 products of more than 9,300 OCOP entities reaching 3 stars or more, an increase of more than 8,400 products compared to 2022, exceeding the assigned target. To date, the country has more than 600 agricultural and rural tourism models in operation, an increase of 235 models compared to 2022.
OCOP products have met standards, regulations on quality, food safety; have diverse and environmentally friendly designs and packaging, meeting the requirements of the domestic and export markets. The awareness, thinking and capacity of OCOP entities, especially cooperatives and small and medium enterprises, have been improved. The OCOP brand has gradually been affirmed in the domestic market and has begun to reach out to the world.
In the 2026-2030 period, many new context and requirements for the country's socio-economic development, especially the requirement to promote science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, and private economic development; along with new requirements for green development, emission reduction, and climate change adaptation... require new approaches, requirements and orientations to overcome shortcomings and limitations in the development of OCOP products and rural tourism in recent times, but at the same time, it is also necessary to create breakthroughs and new vitality for OCOP products and rural tourism, contributing to enhancing the value, image and brand of OCOP, Vietnamese rural tourism.

Speaking at the Conference, Acting Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Duc Thang highly appreciated the positive results of the One Commune One Product Program and the Rural Tourism Program. "We are starting to enter a new stage of development, so we need to have better and more effective programs.
In the coming time, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment will coordinate with ministries and branches to develop policy mechanisms for OCOP products as well as rural tourism. At the same time, pioneering the application of science and technology, digital transformation to support development, implement traceability, and bring many OCOP products to e-commerce platforms.
The Ministry will also issue guidelines for developing the OCOP Program associated with rural construction and sustainable poverty reduction in the coming period," Acting Minister Tran Duc Thang shared.
Acting Minister Tran Duc Thang also emphasized that he will actively organize fairs, promote trade and bring Vietnamese OCOP products to international fairs.
