On September 23, the Hanoi People's Committee announced the decision to appoint the General Director of Hanoi Urban Railway Company Limited (Hanoi Metro).
Accordingly, Mr. Le Bang An (born in 1975) - Member of the Board of Members of Vietnam Railway Corporation - was appointed as General Director of Hanoi Metro.
Speaking at the announcement ceremony of the decision to appoint the General Director of Hanoi Metro, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan said that urban railway is a pillar of the public transport system, helping to solve traffic congestion, reduce environmental pollution, improve connectivity and contribute to socio-economic development for urban areas.
Urban railway is also a key factor in building a modern, smart and sustainable urban area. In recent times, despite many difficulties, Hanoi Metro has gradually mastered the technology, stably operating 2 urban railway lines (Cat Linh - Ha Dong, Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station) with a length of about 21.5km, transporting over 60,000 passengers/day. The operation of these two routes has initially changed people's travel habits towards civilization and modernity.
Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee believes that Hanoi Metro General Director Le Bang An and the collective of leaders and workers of Hanoi Metro will continue to improve the quality of urban railway services, contributing to building a civilized - civilized - modern Hanoi Capital.
New Hanoi Metro General Director Le Bang An said that with nearly 30 years of experience with the national railway, he will actively contribute to the development of Hanoi Metro, building a strong, dynamic and developed unit.
