On August 5, the Traffic Police Department of Vinh Long Province Police coordinated with professional units to investigate the cause of the traffic accident between a car and a garbage truck, which killed 2 people on National Highway 1 through Phu Quoi Commune.
Initial information, in the early morning of the same day, driver T.N.T. (born in 1989, residing in Trung Thanh commune, Vinh Long) was driving a garbage truck with license plate: 64A - 197.xx on National Highway 1, from Can Tho to Vinh Long.
The garbage truck reached the section of Km 2044 on National Highway 1 and stopped on the right side to pick up the garbage. At this time, the car with license plate 64A - 318.xx driven by Mr. L.T.H (born in 2001, residing in Long Chau Ward, Vinh Long) carrying Mr. S.H.T (born in 2003, residing in Rach Gia Ward) and Mr. N.P.D (born in 2003, residing in Cu Lao Gieng Commune, An Giang Province) were traveling in the same direction, when they suddenly collided with the rear of the garbage truck.
The strong collision caused Mr. T. and Mr. D. to die on the spot. Mr. H. was seriously injured and taken to Vinh Long General Hospital for emergency treatment.
At the scene, the front of the car driven by Mr. H. was deformed and severely damaged. The cause of the accident is currently being investigated by the police.
