The Department of Home Affairs has just reported to the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province on reviewing and clarifying the causes and responsibilities for the management of fish farming and releasing to regenerate aquatic resources on Ke Go lake, based on the review results of relevant units.
According to the Department of Home Affairs of Ha Tinh, in 2022, Vietfood Export Company informed the leaders of the Ke Go Nature Reserve Management Board about the first phase of fish release (via phone), but the next phases were not announced.
From the time the fish were released until 2023, Vietfood Export Company has not coordinated with the Ke Go Nature Reserve Management Board to monitor, survey, and evaluate the number of sesame fish that have been released into Ke Go Lake even though this enterprise has not been permitted by competent authorities to release the fish.
The Ke Go Nature Reserve Management Board and Mr. Nguyen Viet Ninh, former Director of the Ke Go Nature Reserve Management Board, had to review and learn from experience.
Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Company Limited is the unit assigned by the Provincial People's Committee to directly manage and exploit the Ke Go project.
However, the unit has not fulfilled its responsibility in managing and protecting the Ke Go lake irrigation works, allowing Vietfood Export Company to repeatedly carry out fish release activities within the protection area of the Ke Go lake reservoir but did not detect or prevent them.
Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Company Limited lacks coordination with the Ke Go Nature Reserve Management Board and local authorities in organizing the management of the protection area of the Ke Go reservoir area assigned to it for management according to regulations.
Regarding this responsibility, Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Company Limited also held a meeting to review the relevant collectives and individuals.
