More routes connecting Do Son tourist area with the city center
The project to invest in the construction of a road connecting the coastal road to Van Bun intersection (Do Son district, Hai Phong) has a total investment of nearly 960 billion VND. The project started on May 1, 2021, implemented in the period of 2019 - 2024 (after adjustment).
The scale of the coastal road construction project (Km1+00) to Van Bun intersection (Ly Thai To street) is 6.2 km long. Of which, the newly invested section is 3.38 km, divided into 3 sections: section 1 is 1.1 km long, roadbed width is 50.5 m; section 2 is 1.3 km long, roadbed width is 59 m, with 10 lanes; section 3 is 0.98 km long, roadbed width is 34 m, with 6 lanes. The upgraded section according to the current scale is 2.82 km long, with a roadbed width of 20.5 m. Both sections have soft, high-altitude road surface structure A1. On the route, invest in building 2 bridges with a technical infrastructure system at intersections, water supply and drainage system, wastewater, technical mines, low-voltage electricity, lighting, sidewalks, and synchronous trees.

The project is expected to connect Do Son tourist area with the city center; creating conditions for the wards in the West of Do Son district to change their structure towards urbanization. After completion, the route will create momentum for the development of commercial, service and tourism activities; attract investment capital in residential land, production and business, and tourism services in accordance with the content of the overall planning for socio-economic development of Do Son district until 2020, with a vision to 2025.
Striving to finish ahead of schedule
Although the plan is to finish in 2024, the project has encountered many problems with site clearance (only in October 2024 was site clearance completed) as well as the impact of storm No. 3 (rain and storm caused flooding of the roadbed items that have been constructed, on the renovation route there are some landslides...). Therefore, based on the recommendation of the People's Committee of Do Son District, the People's Committee of Hai Phong City agreed to complete the project in 2025.

According to information from the Do Son District Construction Investment Project Management Board, by March 12, the construction package had completed about 70% of the work volume compared to the contract value. Of which, Viet Uc Group Joint Stock Company completed 57.7% of the work volume, 68 Trading Joint Stock Company completed 83.2%. The B1 and B2 bridge items have been completed. Most sections of the route will be paved in April. Some other items such as lighting construction, tree planting, and site clearance will be completed before April 15, 2025.
According to reports from contractors, materials (mountainous land, gravel) are currently scarce and prices are rising, causing financial difficulties. In addition, the construction of the upgraded and renovated section on Van Le Street is facing difficulties due to many trucks carrying materials to other projects in Do Son District.
Faced with this situation, the Do Son District Investment and Construction Project Management Board coordinated to remove difficulties with contractors. At the same time, focus on monitoring and urging contractors to focus on human and material resources, strive to complete and put the project into use during the April 30 and May 1 holidays, earlier than planned.
