On the morning of December 13, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Cam Tuyen commune (Cam Lo district, Quang Tri province) confirmed that the authorities had just found the remains of 4 martyrs in the area.
Previously, from December 9 to December 12, the Martyr Remains Collection Team of Division 968 conducted a survey and searched for martyrs' remains in Ba Thung village, Cam Tuyen commune.
During that time, in the garden of Mr. Tran Quoc Tien (Ba Thung village), the team collecting martyrs' remains found a mass grave with 3 martyrs' remains. Next to it, another martyr's remains were found at a depth of 0.8m under the soil.
Relics found with the martyrs' remains include AK guns, ammunition boxes, chemical masks, helmets, etc.
Initial information, the remains found are suspected to be special forces soldiers, sacrificed around 1968, the sacrifice position was in a fighting bunker.
Currently, the remains of 4 martyrs have been brought to the Ba Thung village community learning center, awaiting burial.
The 968th Division's Martyr Remains Collection Team is expanding the search area.
