On June 6, information about Con Dao people discovering a fish rover washing ashore in Con Dao district (Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) was posted on social networks, attracting much attention.
Talking to Lao Dong, Mr. Thanh Nghia (a resident of Con Dao district) said that while exploring nature, at around 4:00 p.m. on June 5, the group discovered and recorded images of fish on the cheo roof in the area near Hai Pong with white stones. The estimated length of this individual is over 2m, and the group reported it to Con Dao National Park.
According to Mr. Le Hong Son - Head of the Department of Science and International Cooperation of Con Dao National Park, this is a fish species that lives on deep, rare seabed. There is no basis to prove that this fish species appeared and was related to natural disasters and earthquakes as some rumors.
"When discovered, this individual had been dead for quite a while and was decomposing, so the garden buried him according to regulations," said Mr. Son.
Recently, there was also a case of fish roaming the coast of Vietnam in Vinh Hy (Ninh Thuan) on May 19, and burial was organized by local people.
It is known that Cheo dam fish (scientific name is Regalecus glesne) rarely appear in the sea near the shore. This fish has an average length of 3m, large individuals can reach up to 11m; mainly eating reed, molluscs, squid and small reptile species.
