On January 4, Lieutenant Colonel Phan Dinh Phi, Head of the Martyrs' Remains Collection Team of Economic - National Defense Team 337, said that the unit had just discovered 2 more martyrs' remains in the process of expanding the search area.
Previously, implementing the plan to search for and repatriate martyrs' remains of Military Region 4 Command, in 4 days from January 1st to January 4th, 2026, the Repatriation Team discovered and exhumed 2 martyrs' remains in the Ta Rung village area, Khe Sanh commune, Quang Tri province.
The remains were discovered at a depth of 0.8 to 1.2m, accompanied by some artifacts such as plates, parachute ropes covering the remains, each remain had a leather bag containing documents and a lighter.

After exhumation, the Repatriation Team brought the martyrs' remains to the Khe Sanh Commune Spiritual Cultural Area for preservation and organized incense according to regulations.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Phan Dinh Phi, previously in this area, functional forces had discovered and repatriated 17 martyrs' remains. Currently, Economic - National Defense Team 337 continues to direct the Repatriation Team to expand the search scope to discover more martyrs' remains remaining in the area.
