On the afternoon of April 9, information from the An Hai Border Guard Station (Phu Yen Provincial Border Guard Command) said that the authorities had recovered the body of a man drifting at sea, in a state of decomposition.
Previously, at around 8:00 a.m. on April 8, a offshore fishing boat captained by Mr. Nguyen Van Em (53 years old, residing in Tuy An district, Phu Yen) discovered the body of a man drifting at sea and reported it to the authorities.
Immediately after receiving the information, An Hai Border Guard Station coordinated with An Hoa Hai Commune Police (Tuy An District) to go to the scene and remove the body. At 5:30 p.m. the same day, the body was brought ashore in the coastal area of Phuoc Dong village, An Hoa Hai commune.
Through the examination, the authorities discovered a citizen identification card named V.D.H (43 years old, residing in Hai Phong City) in the victim's pants pocket. The body was in a state of decomposition, difficult to identify, and the time of death was about 20 days before.
The People's Committee of An Hoa Hai commune has conducted a crematorium and widely announced to search for relatives. By the afternoon of April 9, the victim's family had gone to the Commune People's Committee to identify him.
