On March 16, the People's Committee of Cu Pui commune (Dak Lak province) informed that functional forces had just discovered a student dead in the river.
Accordingly, after finishing morning classes, at about 10:30 am on the same day, 4 students of Cam Phong Elementary School invited each other to swim in the river.
While swimming, L.V. P (9 years old, 3rd grade student) went to a deep water area and showed signs of drowning. Faced with this situation, all 3 remaining students tried to pull the victim up to a shallower water area but failed. After that, P quickly sank into the water.
In the afternoon of school, the students recounted the incident to the teachers. Immediately after that, the school and local authorities were present at the scene and discovered P's clothes and sandals on the bank. Many people went down to the river to dive and found and recovered the victim's body.
