On the evening of November 8, the People's Committee of Trieu Thuan commune (Trieu Phong district, Quang Tri province) confirmed that they had found the body of a woman who jumped into Thach Han river on the morning of November 6.
The location where the body was found is about 100m downstream of the Thach Han River from where the victim went missing.
The victim's body has been handed over to his family for funeral arrangements.
Previously, at around 8:00 a.m. on November 6, Mr. L.V.N (born in 1993, residing in Huong Tan commune, Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province) drove his wife, Ms. N.T.N (born in 1993, residing in Nam Phuoc village, Trieu Phuoc commune, Trieu Phong district) across Dai Loc bridge.
When reaching the middle of the bridge, Ms. N asked her husband to stop the car and jumped over the railing into the river.
The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Quang Tri Province Police and local forces and authorities have deployed rescue operations, but the river water is rising and flowing rapidly, so they are facing many difficulties.
It is known that in recent days, volunteer teams and groups inside and outside the province and many people have supported and accompanied the forces using boats, canoes, and flycams to search for victims.
