On December 25, Truong Son Commune Police (Quang Tri Province) said that the unit had just coordinated with functional forces to detect and handle a case of illegal transportation of wild animals in the area.
Previously, in Cay Ca village area (Truong Son commune), the Truong Son Commune Police Working Group chaired and coordinated with Truong Son Forest Protection Department and Quang Ninh Protective Forest Management Board to patrol and control the area.
During the mission, the authorities discovered Ms. Nguyen Thi V (born in 1977, residing in Truong Ninh commune, Quang Tri province) transporting an individual wild animal but could not present documents proving its legal origin.
Through inspection, the authorities determined that the evidence was a python individual, scientific name Paradoxurus hermaphroditus, weighing 1.9kg, belonging to group IIB - an endangered, rare wild animal according to regulations.
The working group has drawn up a record of the incident for handling according to legal regulations, and coordinated with Truong Son Forest Protection Department to hand over the incense sticky rice to the Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Life, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park for care and rescue according to the process.
